Why is everyone so biased about the Israel/Palestine war?

I have read a lot of questions about this war on yahoo answers, and it seems to me that everyone has chosen a side and quite aggressively defends it.
But the point of this war is based on questions NO ONE really knows the answer to, which is why it continues.
Palestine was once occupied mainly by Muslim people, over time, more and more Jewish people entered it, mainly to find asylum away from persecution in Europe. This increase in Jewish population got to a point where they wanted independence from Palestine, and a vote from the UN decided the country would be divided. This did not sit well the Palestinians, who had been peacefully occupying the whole country for a long time before all this, and is what started the revolt. The Jewish claim that the land should actually all be rightfully theirs, based on historical religious documents, however the evidence is questionable, and is refuted by just as questionable opposing evidence. Years and years of debate between the 2 nations has escalated into deeply patriotic beliefs where the both sides believe passionately, and are willing to give their lives, that the country should rightfully be theirs.
Feel free to correct me where I am wrong, but I think if any of you do the research you can not irrefutably claim that one side is right and the other is wrong. I think we all agree both sides have used violence and people have sadly lost their lives.

If you make a claim in this section, I would like to see evidence that what you say is true, or at least somewhat accurate.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1948_Arab%E2%80%93Israeli_War
Like I said, both sides have questionable evidence for why the land should rightfully be theirs. I personally would like patriotism shot down, and for everyone on Earth to consider the whole world their country, and stop trying to own parts of it. Obviously that would come with it’s own problems. But if you look at nations of individuals of people just like you and me, and stop generalising them to what country they live in, people everywhere are just trying to survive, raise families and live happy lives.
To the person who said the Jews had the country for 2000+ years (no evidence provided) and then the Palestines had control of it for 1500 years (also no evidence provided), and then that the Jews were reclaiming what is rightfully theirs. Does this apply to the rest of the world or only the Jews are allowed to do it? I live in Australia, should I leave the country with the whole 20 million other people because the Aboriginals want it back. Should the the 300 million Americans go look for somewhere else to "sqwat" since Indians were there before them? What happened in the past to get the land is not something we should be proud of, but in modern day why are there still people trying to forcefully take land.

Sadly that’s how we are. Most of us feel we should fight for what we believe in. You see that in movies a lot. Unfortunately it inevitably comes to a point resulting into violence in real life. I don’t think we’ve evolved enough to transcend this disastrous flaw in our nature. Human conflict of this magnitude has happened for thousands of years, and all it teaches us is that it ends up with one side dominating and the other yielding. The differences we possess are what define us and enrich us, and ironically, divide us from each other as well… a most powerful double edged sword. A simple albeit naive solution would be sharing, cohabitation.. but people inherently complicate everything. The tricky part making all parties satisfied. It can get as extreme as Forex trading .. no one can profit without someone else losing ..

  1. patriotism, everyone has something against someone else, and that causes biased opinions. They’re blinded by it. They all end up being politician dogs and dying in a battle that doesnt need to take place. How about we send the leader of both countries on the battlefield and bring back all others, and have the leader fight it out.

When a strong is bullying a weak, and the strong has the monopoly of power to hijack our common sense—thus seeing the strong as a victim. Then it shall take us longer to see who is the weak.

There is a quicker way—expose the liars first ! But I do not see it coming America’s way.

Israel has the full right to the land of Israel, dating back to 2000 years ago. (with archeological proof)

Not only that, Israel sacrificed ITS land to the Palestinians (Gaza) for peace and it is now being used as a center for terror, as well as many lands that Israel has sacrificed for peace.
In an era of global revulsion against radical Islamic terror, Hamas’ protracted program of suicide bombings and shelling of civilian populations, coupled with its refusal to renounce violence, recognize Israel, or accept past peace agreements, coupled with its ideology of militant jihad, have drained the Palestinians of international sympathy and have, in fact, legitimized Israeli arguments of military self-defense. So who’s the guilty one now, huh? According to Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, aiming Qassam/Grad rockets at over 700,000 Israel civilians is a blatant breach of international humanitarian law, and yet Hamas persists on massacring innocents!

If there’s any guilt involved, it is occurring in the top echelons of Hamas’ leadership. Not only have their actions wreaked havoc in Gaza, turning public opinion against them and in favor of their rival Fatah, but their ability to function as a terrorist group has been virtually eliminated. Hamas, your days are limited!

Hamas is made up of cowards and animals who hide in civialian homes and launch rockets from centers of a wide amount of Palestinian civilians.

Clearly, Hamas is threatening the life of it’s people and could care less about them.

  4. So which side are you biased toward?

If you could answer my question i have dissolved yours, but by all means look inside yourself and try to find out why you reached your bias………..I know why i have mine…

It’s all a BIG pile of S#!%, and it just keeps getting deeper and deeper. From a patriotic point of view we are allied with Israel. But from a moral point of view all the good land was just taken away from the muslim population. So it is hard to have an unbiased opinion because no side is right or wrong. So one may ask themselves WTF is going on, I see it as a good idea for an episode of the TV show Unsolved Mysteries.

  6. Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi published an article in the Hamas weekly Al-Risala in which he called the Holocaust "the false Holocaust" and "the greatest of lies". In this article Rantisi expressed support to Holocaust deniers Roger Garaudy, David Irving, Gerd Honsik, and Fredrick Töben, and to the idea that the gas chambers were a myth. The Jewish population needed to escape the anti-semitism in Europe from earlier on.

Hitler got most of his ideas from Martin Luther and Europe’s misguided theories on degrading the Jews. There’s two sides to the sword. If the Jews stayed in Germany or anywhere near it they would have been dead, Nazi Germany residents knew what Hitler was doing yet they could do nothing and even after Hitler was toppled the residents of Germany did not want to give up their homes or towns to the Jews.

Realize that this isn’t just about territory it’s about RELIGION. Both sides should be more tolerant of each other and the United States needs to reach out more to the Palestinian community.

And you just want to hear what you believe to be true, see the world as it is not as it should be genius.

  7. Missx Yes you are quite right. I think the average joe soap takes a side from something he or she have heard without bothering to read the real facts which lead up to this tragic situation Its become a situation where you are either pro or against and nothing on earth will ever convince that either side are wrong. The religious side makes it even worse with remarks like "God gave us this land" or "We are Gods chosen people" These excuses are always used when they run out of any other ideas of their own

what seems funny is that the christians are supporting the israelis here…what they are forgetting is that along with muslims the palestinian christians are suffering.

The Jews have lived there for 3000+ years. There have always been Jews there despite the best effort of Babylon, Rome, Muhammad, the Cursaders and the Muslims.

There once were two Jewish nations, Israel and Judeah. There never was a nation of "Palestine." Just because some long dead nation sticks a name on a hunk of land does not mean there is a corresponding people entitled to the land. (What is next? The Siberian Liberation Front?)

Jews never gave up their claim to the land. Every year for the past 2000 years they restate their claim during their Passover Prayers.
    NEXT YEAR IN JERUSALEM.

IMO the Muslims are squatters. They moved in when the Jews were forced out. Now the owners of the land have come home and they had the right to push out the squatters. When the Muslims controlled the land they neglected it. Read Mark Twain’s description of the wasteland over there when it was under Muslim control. The Jews came in and turned it into a green garden, something the Muslims failed to do even after 1500 years of control.

A comparison would be if the Native Americans managed to take their land back from the invading Europeans. The Europeans would not like it, but they were not the original owners of the land.

If you want one that will drive it home more for you, watch the old Star Trek episode, the Omega Glory. I bet by the time you hit the end of the show, you will be rooting for the barbaric Yangs. And you will get an idea of what the Jews felt like when they finally got THEIR land back.

  15. Your history is not even close to correct. Here is where you are wrong. The part of the world that is now israel was always under muslin control since the fall for rome. That is why every country surrounding israel is predominately muslim. The only parts you are right about is that the jews believe that their religion gives them claim to Jerusalem (but who believe is the magic man in the sky) and that jews immigrated there after the holocaust. (why is the Holocaust capitalized?) Israel was carved out of the middle east at the end of ww2 with a point of a gun by the USA and British. The people who lived in what is now Israel but then Palestinians were forced out. In short the land was stolen in 1945ish(end of ww2). The British occupied the country for 10 years while the jews moved in and set up infrastructure and government. This pissed off all Muslims around the world and is the root of the conflict still today. Next came the 7 days war: After the 10 year occupation the british pulled their troops out. The next day most of the middle east attacked Israel (because they don’t recognize their right to exist and want to return the land to Palestinian people. The muslims were quickly defeated by israel with their far superior weapons donated to them by the USA and expanded their terroritory by 200%. ( You see the usa gives israel $ then they buy weapons from US military industy in short we socialism the jews weapons)Then they pulled back some to what is the map of israel today. Originally at the end of ww2 it was much smaller but expanded by the 7 day war. (It was over in 7 days get it) The usa was pulled into the war by the false flag attack on the USS LIberty where israel attacked the ship and it was blamed on Egypt-declassified. Two regions were trapped inside the new boarders after the was: gaza is one one them. Now the jews control boarders of gaza and blockade the ports and don’t allow free trade, aid, or a true economy to exist and the people of gaza are left in economic genocide. This piises off Muslims and people with a brain and a heart.

So I’m not posting links but you google these off the top of my head:
Video- Palestine is still the issue greg palsit bbc
If america knew -its on peter werbe.com
    Seven days war
    uss liberty
cynthia mckinney yacht rammed by israel navy

If my child died at the hospital because the Jews don’t let medical supplies into my country i would lob a missile over the wall too. The only leg to stand on in israels defense is well they do terrorism, well terrorism is what you get when poor nations fight back against wealthy nations. When you rocks vs machine guns and bazookas v F-16s you will have terrorism.

And don’t look for Obama’s administration to say anything because rahm Emanuel’s father was Jewish terrorist—google rahm Emanuel father terrorist and see.

You are a very smart lady. The americans are siding with their Israeli-lobiyst controlled media and very few actually see the suffering the Israelis brought upon the Palestinian people claiming it is God’s will, give me a break. So i am going to your house and saying, I must steal your platinum tv because god told me i have a right to own it. if you listen to the people explaining why they have a right to israel because "the jewish people have been persecuted for centuries"wah wah wah. I know the haulocaust was an awful thing and the persecutions before it, but why do the Palestinians have to pay for the Nazis crimes?
