You have the moral obligation of accepting them. The US is the responsible for what is going on in Iraq, not Syria or Jordan.

Iraqis should be allowed to apply for asylum like all other foreign nationals. As a general rule, asylum seekers must show that they have a credible fear of persecution on account of their race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular group.

Given that Iraq is currently is currently experiencing a inter-religious civil war, all Iraqis should be granted asylum in the United States once they appear at our borders. For example, a Sunni will fear persecution at the hands of the Shiites and vice versa.

I have met many recently arrived Iraqis that were seeking asylum in the United States. So far, all of the Iraqis that I have met who departed Iraq post-invasion, have received asylum based upon religious persecution.

I'm not crazy about more immigration, but I favor allowing Iraqis to come here, at least temporarily. Over a million have fled Iraq and have nowhere to go, no help, no money,and little hope. I'm not talking terrorists, just poor folks that have escaped hell, and are stuck in limbo. These are victims, not enemies.

I DON'T BELIEVE THAT WE SHOULD SHOW SPECIAL TREATMENT TO ANY SPECIFIC GROUP ! WE ARE THERE TO HELP BRING FREEDOM TO ALL IRAQ'S CITIZENS!!! WE HAD TO STAY AND FIGHT FOR OUR INDEPENDENCE!!! WE DID NOT FLEE TO CANADA OR MEXICO AND TELL THE FRENCH TO SEND WORD WHEN THE WAR WAS OVER AND WE COULD SAFELY COME HOME!!! WE STAYED AND BECAUSE OF THAT BRAVERY I WAS BORN IN A FREE NATION!!!

granting them asylum has high volatility. it’s too dangerous and who can say if the ppl in iraq who helped the US troops are really our friends or our enemies in disguise. (like saudi arabia for example but that’s not the case here) if the US grants them asylum, it could mean war in american soil itself as some iraqis who r not even involved in this war are against US policies.

there’ll be too many iraqis in wanting to come out of there and that’s just too much ppl to montior. we cant even decide who to trust! nevertheless i do feel sorry for those who are trapped there and i pray that everything will be alright but asylum isnt a good idea at all! it’s far too risky and this is not something that can be easily regulated no matter what policy is undertaken to control it!
