Immigration of Irakies through Asylum, would you agree?

Posted on January 17th, 2010 by admin

Specially those who helped the US troops in translation and everything. Do you think the US government should grant them entrance to US territory? If so, how would you regulate this?
If you don’t agree, please share your views. Thank you
moonstar…Thank you for your intelligent answer.

For whoever gets upset with this question, I never stated that I was FOR or AGAINST this issue. I bring it up because I’m interested in the pubic opinion. I watched the news tonight and there was a woman (Iraqi reporter) who helped an American soldier and she’s aking for asylum since she feels her life in Iraq is danger, so I am curious how we are going to react with this kins of requests

Iraqis should be allowed to apply for asylum like all other foreign nationals. As a general rule, asylum seekers must show that they have a credible fear of persecution on account of their race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular group.

Given that Iraq is currently is currently experiencing a inter-religious civil war, all Iraqis should be granted asylum in the United States once they appear at our borders. For example, a Sunni will fear persecution at the hands of the Shiites and vice versa.

I have met many recently arrived Iraqis that were seeking asylum in the United States. So far, all of the Iraqis that I have met who departed Iraq post-invasion, have received asylum based upon religious persecution.

What can i do to appeal against an unfair immigration decision. My daughter has been denied a visa to join us.

Posted on January 14th, 2010 by admin

My eldest child has been denied entry in the UK because of the error i made on the form i filled in at the British High Commission about her year of birth. I have however provided an original passport, Original birth certificate an Original national registration card and original baptism certificate but the officer could not budge. My three youger children have been given visas. Both my wife and i have indefinite leave to remain in the UK.
What should i do because my eldest daughter is still abroad and disjointed from the family.
The immigation officer quoted paragraph 297 of the immigration,Nationality and asylum act 2002,particularly the part on age.
I feel i satisfied all the requirements of the paragraph because it was on that basis that he granted visas to my three other chidren

Yes, they have a valid point, and unfortunately, due to recent world trends (lets face it, discrimination is slowly becoming normal caution), unless you can prove to a judge/tribunal that you have filled the forms out by mistake because you could not understand it, or have other factors that affected you during the fillation (lol) of the form, or that since all 3 of your children has passed and she is in a similar circumstance and that to block her because of one tiny mistake would be discriminative, then you’d have to retry the whole process.
