There's a British horror film that's just called "Asylum" (1972), that I remember as being pretty good. It features Peter Cushing, who was in a zillion movies (including the first "Star Wars" film) before he died.

It's one of those "anthology" horror films, in which we meet several of the residents at the asylum, and each one has a creepy tale to tell about how they came to be there. Good stuff.
References :
A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors

As we move onto the third edition of the Nightmare franchise, I can't help but wonder if I should have just skipped the second part and watched this one instead. The third Nightmare movie features to mine and probably other viewers' delight Nancy Thompson, who mysteriously vanished after the first movie. Now, however, she is working as psychiatrist and has just been recruited as a new staff member down at a local hospital. However, she has a motive for wanting the job; apparently the last of the Elm Street children are being treated there and Nancy has decided to make it her mission to save them from Freddy Krueger's evil clutches.

This movie is quite different to the previous two; in this one Nancy is helping the children to fight Freddy using their dreams to their advantage. One very special and gifted girl is Kristen Parker, who is able to pull people into her dreams. Nancy learns this and decides to help Kristen and the other children to defeat Freddy. Seriously though, best of the entire series! Except for maybe New Nightmare. Nancy really helps to revive the Nightmare franchise and brings it right out of the dark ages. I always have a lot of fun watching this one, Nancy is even stronger than she was in the first movie. Apart from her though, Kristen is also great as Nancy's sort of helper. Anyway, if you haven't seen this, go out and rent/buy it now! It's really worth it if you enjoyed Nightmare 1!
