los lunas NM history?

im trying too find what use to be on the land where the current state police department it.
1000 Main Street NW. I think its that. im not sure if that the address but there are alot of really old building there.
i heard from a friend that one of the building in the back use to be an insane asylum but had to be shut down many years ago, im trying to find the history on if that is true or not. the entire parking lot is filled with extremely old building. but only half of it is in use. and the other half has building with broken windows and stuff, does anyone know the history of it? or where i can find the history of it. i googled it but found nothing.

Start with the county Register of Deeds office. They will have the address on file and you can backtrack from then. OF course if it was in private hands, and not commercial, it may not state the purpose of the building.
