Hugo Chavez sued for alleged acts of terrorism, conspiracy and human rights violations does the UN arrest him?

Posted on September 30th, 2009 by admin

MIAMI — A nonprofit group has sued Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez for alleged acts of terrorism and human rights violations, including conspiring with Colombian guerrillas, al-Qaida and the Taliban.

Freedom Watch, which advocates for ethics in government, filed the lawsuit Wednesday in Miami federal court on behalf of Venezuelan journalist Ricardo Guanipa. According to the filing, Guanipa worked for Radio Marti in Venezuela and received death threats after investigating government corruption. Radio Marti is the U.S. government’s broadcast to Cuba, with the stated goal of providing an alternative to the communist island’s government-run media.

Guanipa fled Venezuela and received political asylum in the U.S. in 2005. He now lives in Miami. Freedom Watch is seeking class action status for the case in order to include other individuals whom it alleges were also forced to flee Venezuela

Whereas Hugo Chavez is alleged to be in violation of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, who arrests him?

Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world,

Whereas disregard and contempt for human rights have resulted in barbarous acts which have outraged the conscience of mankind, and the advent of a world in which human beings shall enjoy freedom of speech and belief and freedom from fear and want has been proclaimed as the highest aspiration of the common people,

Whereas it is essential, if man is not to be compelled to have recourse, as a last resort, to rebellion against tyranny and oppression, that human rights should be protected by the rule of law,

If he did get arrested I am sure that "Barry" would be there to hold his hand.
That guy isn’t worth the powder it would take to blow him away.

How much usually cost for the asylum attorney in general?

Posted on September 30th, 2009 by admin

One of my friend will apply for the political asylum in US, I know there’s no fee for this thing if you apply by yourself.
But because she has a limited English and minimum knowledge of the Law in US, she’s planning to hire attorney.
And because she doesn’t have much money, she needs to know how much it will cost in general?
She from third world country that a lot of conflict happen overthere , I feel bad for her and please I need serious answer.
Thanks!

I charge $2000, because it is a butload of work, but a lot of places do it cheaper or for free. She should call her local catholic diocese or lutheran social service office, they usually have lawyers who do it for next to nothing.

Now, you tell me. What’s the definition of an immigrant, an illegal immigrant a refugee and an asylum seeker

Posted on September 30th, 2009 by admin

By the way, I know the answer. Just interested.
It might help if I said ‘convention’ refugee. The convention being the Geneva Convention.
Clueless is still clueless. Somethings never change. I wouldn’t even visit the USA if someone paid me.

Immigrant — someone who has chosen for various reasons to move from his own country to another. It may not be a permanent arrangement and among the motives is being married to someone settled in that country, taking up employment in that country or retiring to that country using one’s own resources.

Illegal immigrant — someone who has not entered a country legitimately, but has either done so clandestinely or lied to the authorities about his situation. Some economies rely on illegal immigrants for cheap labour. Illegal immigrants may include overstayers — people who remained after being refused leave by the authorities.

Refugee — someone who has been forced to leave his own country by persecution or impossibility of remaining there because of some natural calamity. Given the choice (including the removal of the source of persecution or sorting out the natural calamity) he’d rather go home. The reason for leaving his own country is more significant than the identity of his country of exile, i.e. the primary reason for going weighs more heavily than the choice of country of exile.

asylum seeker — someone who found it necessary to flee his own country because of conditions there rendered life intolerable for him or members of his family. Such reasons may include persecution or targeting by kidnappers or other evil doers against which the police were powerless. They do not include economic pressure. Here the focus is on the country which has been chosen: he has left his own country with the intention of seeking right of abode in a particular destination. Under the various Conventions, he is supposed to seek refuge in the first ’safe’ country he comes to, but a surprising number arrive in the UK via all manner of other ’safe’ countries. For ’safe’ read ’soft’ (landing place).

Immigration question I apply for asylum ,but my attorney did not submit my application until immigration?

Posted on September 30th, 2009 by admin

Immigration question I apply for asylum ,but my attorney did not submit my application until immigration arrested me and at the same day my attorney file my case now my case is defensive or affirmative? I mean my case will go to the court or asylum office? Thank you

If you were served with a Notice to Appear, you can present your asylum request to the Immigration Judge. If you really needed asylum, you would have walked into an asylum office long before you were arrested.

If you can convince the Immigration Judge that you deserve asylum, it will be granted from the court.

If someone was in a lunatic asylum during the 19th century, were they necessarily a lunatic?

Posted on September 30th, 2009 by admin

or could they be there for some other reason – for example paralysed?

Some may have just been epileptic or even a diabetic. Insulin is a hormone and when it is out of whack a person can just act out and seem a little crazy.

How many asylum seekers are there in the UK?

Posted on September 30th, 2009 by admin

well i want to know how many asylum seekers they were in each year. E.g. 2002, 2004.
I need to use this information for my coursework

Try contacting the Home Office in England for that information. I doubt anyone here would be able to give you accurate information.

How does a American citizen seek asylum in Canada?

Posted on September 30th, 2009 by admin

I am looking to seek asylum in Canada, I want nothing more to do with USA. How would I go about it, and how long does it take? Any answers at all would be deeply appreciated !

Thank you!
I am afraid now to be in USA. They do not take people claiming asylum? I would do whatever it takes, I don’t have very much job experience. What now?

Your question made me laugh. Asylum is for those from war torn countries or those who will face human rights violations.

The US is not like that now with Obama and will be getting better.

Obama moves to grant political asylum to women who suffer domestic abuse, a good idea?

Posted on September 30th, 2009 by admin

The Obama administration has moved to grant political asylum to foreign women who suffer severe physical or sexual abuse from which they are unable to escape because it is part of the culture of their own countries.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/jul/24/obama-women-abuse-political-asylum-us
It would be very easy to fake such a thing, will it open up the system to more abuse?

Usually political pandering while ignoring the plight of 39% of the victims of domestic violence, AND their children, in the US, who get no help at all.
